Sweat… or rain?

Well, as I’m sure most of you know, I’m more than a little out of shape, but this run was actually short even for me! Only ran 1.75 miles! Granted, I was a little short on time as I have to be home and ready for the wife when she gets here because it is family photo day with her parents and sibblings! (OK, I’m trying to sound thrilled but really, I hate getting my picture taken!). So anyways, back to the run, I actually came home dripping in what seemed like sweat but it could’ve been rain (although rain is an overstatement… more like drizzle). I’m just confused because it really didn’t seem like the kind of workout that would get somebody sweating a lot.

Oh well, I am simply proud of myself for actually getting out in this nasty weather we’ve had ALL weekend and tonight is going to be a Group Power class at The Alaska Club. (I’ve been talking about this a lot, I know. I am simply tricking my brain into wanting to go so that I actually do go!! So far it’s working!). The gym is right after the family pics so it’s gonna be a busy evening and a late dinner. Hopefully I’ll be posting shrimp fajita’s tonight using our leftover tortilla’s! OK, I’m off! Dinner anyone?

Well, it’s a late night post for me, not very tired at all and just finished watching the last season of Hell’s Kitchen! Gordon Ramsay is absolutely CRAZY! I just think it’s funny how much insanity he puts those poor chef’s through. But for a restaurant and 250,000 dollars, the hell would be worth it! OK, enough said about T.V. dinner and on to my delicious meal. Tonight we cooked up some steak fajita’s cooked with onions/peppers and topped with fresh guacamole and salsa. This meal was simply amazing!

They aren’t the greatest pics, but one of these days I might start using a camera that actually has a flash and no phone attached to it! 🙂 Tonight’s a short post, it’s almost 1:00 a.m. and I’m now really tired. Tomorrow is a new day with new food to cook and also my first ever Group Power class at The Alaska Club! I’m very eager to start trying new things in a new life instead of the same old comfy mess my life has been.

And of course, a question: What is important on your life’s goal list (big or small) and what are you doing to achieve that goal? OK, have a good night everyone!

Ok, not a whole lot going on today in this bloggers life… Work creeps by ever so slowly, my fridge is empty so I’m literally without food today except for some remaining salad greens and an egg (and a meager portion of leftover lasagna). Can we say FOOD SHOPPING tonight?!?

Speaking of the lasagna, it was a recipe I found on the web that follows right along with clean eating. We used lean ground turkey, a healthy dose of spinach, onions, and tomatoes/tomato sauce, and some ricotta and parmesan cheese. I will say, however, that I was not impressed with the flavor combinations (it called for both nutmeg and cinnamon). So I think next time, ditch the cinnamon and spice it up a little bit with some oregano and pepper!

And so I may save face, here is what they SHOULD have looked like! 🙂 Mine did not appear quite so delicious looking, but I’m an aspiring chef in my own kitchen and looks aren’t everything!

Well, food aside, I am hoping for some very nice weather for tomorrow as I am looking forward to FINALLY getting back down to Cooper Landing so I can bike ride the Russian Lakes trail (or part of it rather. I am not fit enough to ride the complete loop of 25+ miles!). Also in the exercise arena, monday is a Group Power class at The Alaska Club. I can’t wait!

And so, I am putting last night’s binge behind me and trudging forward with my goals. And next week is the Air Show on Elmendorf AFB and hopefully the Sunday Market as well! So I hope everyone stays on track with their goals and achieves all that they desire! Good bye for now!
